Trailing drawdown calculator

Type the peak and the trail distance from the account you actually have. The floor is peak minus trail. If you type a lock, the floor will not rise above it.

Type the peak and trail from the account you bought, or pick a sourced preset. Last reviewed Oct 2026.

Floor is $49,000.00. A later loss does not pull this floor back down.

How the formula works

Floor = peak balance − trail amount. If a lock is set, floor = the lesser of that result and the lock. A later drop in balance does not lower the floor.

A worked example

Peak $51,000 and a $2,000 trail: the floor is $49,000. If the balance then falls to $50,000, the floor stays $49,000. That example is arithmetic, not a firm’s published rule.

Apex trailing drawdown calculator

Apex’s intraday article, last reviewed Oct 2026, says a 50K evaluation trails by $2,000 from the highest balance, including unrealized gains. The account starts at $50,000 with the threshold at $48,000. An unrealized high of $50,900 moves the threshold to $48,900 immediately. Choose the Apex 50K intraday preset and those fields fill in. The source link sits under the preset. You can still edit the trail if the account you bought is end-of-day or a different size.

End-of-day Apex accounts are a different rule: the threshold is set once at 4:59:59 PM ET from the close and enforced the next session. A 50K performance account stops trailing at $50,100. Do not leave the intraday preset selected if your contract is the end-of-day product. Type the peak your rules name.

Other sourced presets

Topstep’s 50K Combine preset uses a $2,000 trail and a lock at the $50,000 starting balance, from the Maximum Loss Limit article. LucidFlex 50K trails by $2,000 and locks at $50,100. Tradeify 50K Growth uses that same shape of lock when the end-of-day balance reaches $52,100. MyFundedFutures 50K locks the floor at $50,100 when the balance reaches $52,100. Each preset shows its source and the Oct 2026 review date.

The formula under the presets is still peak minus trail, then the lesser of that and the lock if you typed one. A later drop does not lower the floor. The formula does not know unrealized profit unless you type the peak that already includes it. That is why the Apex preset’s note tells you which balance counts.

Questions

Is this the Apex trailing drawdown?

Use the Apex 50K intraday preset, or type the distance yourself. A 50K intraday evaluation trails by $2,000. The Apex firm page links the intraday trailing drawdown article.

End of day or intraday?

The formula is the same shape. What changes is which balance counts as the peak. Use the peak your firm’s rules name, end-of-day or intraday.

Does a preset change Apex’s rule?

No. It fills the fields from the article and links it. Editing the numbers only changes this page.

What if my size is 100K?

Clear the preset and type the distance from the firm page. A 100K Apex intraday evaluation trails by $3,000. A 100K Topstep Combine trails by $3,000. The locks are not the same.

Will this fail my account?

No. It does not connect to the firm. Touching the floor on their platform is what fails the account.
