Account sizes on the Maximum Loss Limit
Topstep’s trailing drawdown is the Maximum Loss Limit. Their help article says it trails the end-of-day balance, never moves down, and locks once it reaches the starting balance. During the day, open profit and loss count. A 50K Combine starts at $50,000 with the limit at $48,000. The 100K distance is $3,000. The 150K distance is $4,500.
A 50K Express Funded Account is a different starting point. Topstep’s article says it starts at $0, the limit starts at −$2,000, and the limit locks at $0 once the balance reaches $2,000. After a payout, the limit is $0. Read the article before you treat a calculator floor as the number on your dashboard.
