Apex sells intraday trailing and end-of-day trailing accounts. The intraday threshold is the one traders misread: it follows your peak balance including open profit, so a trade you never close can still raise your floor.

How the intraday trailing drawdown moves on a 50K
Illustrative example using the published $2,000 maximum loss: a 50K evaluation opens at $50,000 with the floor at $48,000. A trade that shows $50,900 in open profit moves the floor to $48,900 at once, even if you close the trade flat.
The floor follows the peak, open profit included, and does not come back down. That is why a scalper who lets winners run and then cuts them can find the floor much closer than the closed balance suggests.
Apex Trader Funding payouts: what has to line up
With a 50% consistency rule, your largest day can be at most 50% of the profit counted for the payout. A $600 best day needs at least $1,200 of total profit before it passes. Bank one big day early and the following days have to carry the rest.
What traders get caught on
- On a 50K intraday evaluation the threshold starts at $48,000. If open profit lifts the balance to $50,900, the threshold moves to $48,900 at once, with no closing trade needed. If the balance then falls to $50,200, the threshold stays at $48,900. (source: apextraderfunding.com)
- In a 50K intraday Performance Account the trail stops at $50,100 once your highest balance reaches $52,100. (source: apextraderfunding.com)
- Rithmic and WealthCharts evaluations stop trailing at $53,000 once the highest balance reaches $55,000. Tradovate evaluations keep trailing. (source: apextraderfunding.com)
- The 50% consistency rule applies to Performance Account payout requests: no single day can be more than 50% of the profit since the last approved payout. Missing it blocks the request; the account stays open. (source: apextraderfunding.com)
- The intraday evaluation has no daily loss limit and no minimum trading days. You have 30 days, and 7 days to activate after passing. (source: apextraderfunding.com)
